If you have been following my social media accounts or reading this blog (which I launched on New Year’s Day in 2018) you have likely seen a variety of nude or partially nude photos of me. It is not my intention to influence others through my photos or my words, I simply enjoy sharing my “Get Naked With Joy” adventures. From what I understand, different groups of people use different terms to describe naturism and related activities.
According to Wikipedia:
“Naturism, or nudism, is a cultural and political movement practising, advocating, and defending personal and social nudity, most but not all of which takes place on private property. The term may also refer to a lifestyle based on personal, family, or social nudism. Naturism may take a number of forms. It may be practiced individually, within a family, socially, or in public.”
Some people are very particular about the term used to describe their lifestyle. There are a variety of terms used to describe personal, situational and social nudity. For me, the term does not matter. Because I love being outdoors, the word naturism resonates with me, but nudism is also a term I embrace.
I grew up with a dad who was a social and situational nudist, so I have always felt comfortable being naked. At the same time, I have avoided sharing naked photos of myself publicly until this year. I suppose I was afraid of the reactions of friends, family and strangers.
On a personal level, my life changed dramatically in 2017. One of the aspects of me that shifted throughout the process I went through is that I somehow evolved into a woman who refuses to allow the conservative, limiting, or shameful thoughts of others to shape my life.
So here I am baring my soul and my body to you.
From my heart to yours,
Joy

I never cared for labels much either. Someone always wants to define people and ideas into pigeon holes. I was told once that I am not a “true nudist” because I don’t care if anyone or everyone else is clothed. I just enjoy being naked and wish it were no more remarkable than jeans and a t-shirt are now. I call myself a nudie.
Probably only a third of the posts on my blog are nudie related. I wear clothes around the house for practical reasons. So I guess that means I’m “not serious”. Oh well.
If you can’t please everyone, you’ve got to please yourself.
There are some purists that differentiate between naturism and nudism. I don’t really pay attention to those labels, and I use them interchangeably. Society has used shame of the human body to control people for centuries, but I refuse to be shamed for what God gave me. Many activities are more practical when done nude. Also there are the psychological benefits of being nude especially in nature. Like you I am very open about being a naturist. That openness is in and of itself creates a feeling of freedom.
Hey beautiful bare beach bum, lovely to hear your voice again. Funny, I didn’t plan on representing Naturism or Nudism. I was just doing my thing and sharing. I also didn’t realize there was such an issue with the simple act of being naked. I cannot ignore the fact that the lack of respect for a naked female encourages rape culture. So now I feel compelled to continue this journey with a deeper intention. Sending love, Joy
So happy to see you back. Even happier to see you in your environment. Home is where the heart is and I think your heart has always been in Salt Spring. I look forward to sharing this journey from afar.

The differences of a natural woman
They are subtle. I have held hands with women that really are the farthest from natural as can be. The feel in the touch is of a natural women is a world apart. A not so natural woman exploits or forces hand handing. They have to think about it. With a natural woman it just happens. Almost without thought the hands glide together. It’s not a statement. It is a state of being. The kiss of a natural woman is passionate even in the most incidental of expression. Why? She doesn’t have to think about it. It is an involuntary action that originates from the heart. An unnatural woman will seem to start out that way but it fades away over time. Their actions come from what they want not who they are.
Why are they the most beautiful?
Natural women emanate even in there worst of moments “this is me.” They will wake up in the morning and not have to run to the make up table. They glide into the day. Everything is performed with an “I care” aura. The don’t look for glory in what they do and who they are. Yet, their appreciation of recognition is deeper felt and more profoundly expressed.
Wow, beautiful words. I am speechless. Namaste. ❤️
