Cultivating Self Love

I’ve been listening to the song Lost It All by Jill Andrews. The first line struck a chord with my heart:

All the kings horses and all the kings men never put my heart together again.

One day when I was listening to those very words, by dear friend sent me a text about a song she came across that reminded her of me. The title is Everything I Need by singer and song writer Trevor Hall. Listening to Lost It All followed by Everything I Need is a powerful experience. The polar opposite sentiments of the lyrics is oddly liberating. It is true, I have everything I need even though I sometimes feel like I lost it all.

While contemplating both musicians and the intention behind their music, I began searching for a quote to inspire me, I found this one:

She spent her whole life fixing broken hearts, yet she didn’t know how to fix her own.

What an intense experience. To spend one’s entire life mending the hearts of those you love without ever mending your own heart. I sat with my thoughts for a bit before beginning to write this post…After some serious contemplation, I have decided that I don’t need the kings horses and men, a night in shining armor, or an external influence to mend my heart. I’ve so got this; I daresay I am on the brink of inner transformation!

If you have dealt with heartache and loss, my love goes out to you. May you find your inner strength. May you heal your heart and the related emotional wounds. May you rewild your spirit and reconnect with the unique beauty of your soul. May you experience profound states of bliss and ecstasy. May you cultivate self love.

From my heart to yours,
Joy

As a man who lost everything due to a divorce. I now have everything I need again. A fully paid house over my head again, a lovely wife again and finally an inner peace with myself. I have forgiven myself and am happy.
